Bill Toms and myself to tour in Germany!
by Martin on Feb.02, 2010, under Allgemein
Hey y’all,
I hope you had a good start into the New Year.
Mine started with a blast: my old friend Bill Toms (formerly of Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers from Pittsburg/PA) and myself are trying to set up an acoustic tour through Germany for October this year!
Since touring in Germany is becoming an increasingly difficult task for independent artists like ourselves we would like to ask for the help of the East Coast/Jersey Shore congregation: YOU!
We would like to encourage each and every one of you who is capable and willing to act as a local promoter for a show in Germany (or maybe even Holland or Belgium if it’s managable) to contact us here.
Don’t think too big! A sell-out show in a small venue (50 – 200 people max.) or even a nicely set-up house concert will do everybody more good than trying to hit the big venues!
The time frame we are looking on will be 18. -24.10.10
Bill and I will each do an acoustic set and then share the stage for a third one to help out on each other’s songs.
We are counting on you. Let’s make this work for the love of independent, original music.
Best wishes from Bill Toms and Yours Truly.

Hi y’all,
(continue reading…)
Light of Day Germany – Meller night of a thousand guitars

Hi y’all,
last week I had the pleasure of being a part of the first “Light of Day” concert in Germany.
Some 13 years ago me and my former band, The Streethearts, had the opportunity to share the bill with Joe Grushecky & The Housrockers from Pittsburgh, PA. on a european wide tour.
Bob Benjamin, manager of Joe Grushecky, was diagnosed with the Parkinson Disease shortly after the tour. His effort to make a difference led to the founding of the Light of Day organisation. Now completing it’s 10th year, the foundation has organized countless benefit shows with well-known artists around the world to spread awareness and to raise money to aid the battle against Parkinson’s Disease.
